Carolyn’s love of theatre was nurtured at the country school she attended, at Wesley United Church and by her childhood music teacher, Ruth Joseph in Vandorf, Ontario.Through her childhood she was encouraged to develop her talent, to practice, practice, practice and to be brave. Her older sister Marty has been her lifelong cheerleader; her younger sister and brother willingly served as her first audience. A wonderful coming-of-age ritual in the Pogue family was to be allowed to attend The Stratford Shakespearean Festival after completing grade 9.
Carolyn has written several plays, puppet shows and a full length musical for community theatre which have been performed in Ontario, NWT and Alberta. She helped launch the opening of The Northern Arts and Cultural Centre in Yellowknife and also attended the music theatre program at The Banff Centre for the Fine Arts. In addition to writing, Carolyn has performed onstage and worked backstage on sets and props. All good fun.
